I would recommend Camino Search to other accountants in the industry. The Challenge

Late last year I was struggling to find talent for two roles within my finance team, one senior Financial Controller position and one slightly more junior technical Accounts Assistant position. Whilst running the full finance function I didn’t have time to be advertising for the roles myself or to trawl through numerous CVs and early-stage interview processes.

I had engaged one agency on the roles but the profiles they supplied me with weren’t quite what I needed. I was seeing a lot of Management Accountant profiles but none that possessed the highly technical VAT and EMI understanding as well as a hands-on attitude and problem-solving skills that I desired.

The Solution

When Will approached me about helping me with my hiring requirements I decided to give him a shot. He provided me with several good profiles in a short amount of time and worked with me through the interview process until we had eventually found the right candidate for both vacancies. Will and I had met for a coffee a year prior to these requirements coming up and had taken the time to understand my personality and worked very consultatively with me with regular updates until I found myself a new role.

It was this relationship focused approach that helped Will to quickly grasp which candidates would be a good cultural and technical fit for me. I was also impressed by Camino’s top to bottom approach and their access to more high-level junior candidates as opposed to the senior-focused approach of other search firms.

The Process

Will didn’t inundate me with a large number of profiles, instead he provided me with a small shortlist of candidates for each role, each of which had clearly been vetted to meet my requirements. This process ultimately helped me to place two great candidates into my team in a relatively short amount of time.
